Vince Bailey

Vince Bailey began his nursing career in the United Kingdom in 1981 as a mental health nurse.  In 1992 he came to New Zealand and worked for Capital & Coast DHB in the acute psychiatric inpatient area and as a community psychiatric nurse.  He completed the general and obstetrics programme and Bachelor of Nursing in 1997 and moved into the medical field, working in general medical, cardiac care and as Nurse Consultant for Intravenous Therapy.  At this time he also undertook a post graduate certificate in nursing at Wellington University.

In 2005 Vince left Capital & Coast DHB for two years to work as Nurse Advisor for the Nursing Council.  On moving back to Capital & Coast DHB he has worked as the Clinical Nurse Specialist for Acute Pain Management, Clinical Nurse Specialist for Infection Control and as Quality Leader for Community and Clinical Support Services.  In 2009 he returned to Mental Health as Quality Consultant.  He continues to be involved at the Nursing Council and sits on the Competence Review Panel.
